It seems to me I have not really done anything worth while in this lifetime for me to smile about and now trying to catch up. I believe I can support every one having health insurance. I am sure it will cost something until folks start to make things more efficient and price will go down. Perhaps funding things like other folks detox and rehab might portend to be not so good an investment , but then anyone needing such treatment suggests the folks have a dopamine/serotonin imbalance and that is a legitimate health expense.
What we need is health care police. I bet some one might find out how to get rich by dubious means just like the insurance companies. In fact my contribution might be to support the removal of health insurance. At the same time have doctors publish their fees for service. That way people can choose to go to a doctor with low overhead costs. Make health care ultra capitalistic. Doctors can be contractors and publish their successful outcomes. A provider may say you need a colon removal and at a specific cost. The provider contracts anesthesia, room, recovery, lab, pharm. publish the cost and patient choose price he is willing to pay in light of doctors published history. A handshake and signature later deals done. The unexpected is negotiated after the fact. A patient after procedure says "I feel great and I feel well enough to pay half doctors published fee to have removed the gall bladder" They negotiate and all is made whole. Now lets say folding insurance companies adds three percent unemployment. That is not so bad as people will write resumes and join the people applying for jobs. This time they might find legitimate employment.
